Flemish Giant
Named for it's 16^th century origins in the Flemish region of Europe, these large breed rabbits are as well known for their intelligence and friendliness as their size. Adults typically range from 13-22 pounds but it is not uncommon for healthy body mass to exceed 22 pounds. Their powerful and long bodies are clearly evident by the excellent muscle development visible in the broad hind quarters. Does carry an even full dewlap (tuft of skin under chin) while bucks have a well defined broad head. Flemish Giant's are better defined as “gentle giants” as they have a wonderful willing to please people-friendly demeanor. All of our rabbits are handled daily and the natural easy-going nature of the Flemish Giants make them an excellent choice for pets and show. Like most rabbit breeds, Flemish Giants can be litter-box trained and adult bucks rarely spray. We feed high-quality 18% protein pellets and only select hay & grass supplementing with oats, apples and acceptable treats.
