If you or someone you know has a physical issue that prevents or limits participation in shooting events or hunting, please contact me. Having my own physical issues to contend with has strengthened my resolve to create devices to assist people with physical challenges in all aspects of their lives. Physical issues should not keep you from doing the things you enjoy and that includes participating in shooting events and hunting. My twenty years custom machinery design and manufacturing experience has proven time and again that nothing is impossible, it just hasn't been done yet. My experience and associations in many different industries, including custom prosthetics manufacturers, allows me access to state-of-the-art technology, materials and custom manufacturing capabilities. If you have a special need, please do not hesitate to contact me, I will be more than happy to assist. From custom slings, attachments and supports for guns to custom carriers and attachments for your scooter, chair or other mobility device, nothing is impossible.

Big Game Hunter Flintlock / Percussion Pistol Information and Options:

Every Big Game Hunter flintlock or percussion pistol comes standard with a match grade barrel that is turned from solid bar stock, single point rifled and hand lapped. The wide grip and pommel provide ample surface area for accurate shooting with a two handed hold and distribute the recoil evenly so even full power loads are comfortable to fire. Fore grip swell provides ease of shooting from a single or cross-sticks and or using the Creedmore position - *Slimline forestock and custom grip options are available. The tuned lock and trigger ensure smooth dependable target quality operation. In keeping with tradition, every pistol is meticulously assembled one at a time by hand and all carving is also done by hand using chisels and scrapers just like they were built 200 years ago. The only non-traditional part of the pistol is the barrel channel, it is bedded with Fire & Iron’s exclusive vibration absorbing compound (Ultra-RVC) that eliminates barrel harmonics to further increase accuracy. Double lock panel and barrel channel molding lines are also standard unless otherwise specified.

Available Options:

Barrels – Standard profile (15/16” Octagon to tapered round) available in the following calibers and rifling twists: .45 / 1:54 - .50 / 1:60 - .54 / 1:66 - Other calibers & twists available.

Sights – Rear: Traditional fixed full buckhorn or traditional wedge adjustable full buckhorn. Front: Traditional fixed German silver, steel or brass (copper facing available).

Stock wood – Red Bay (standard), Walnut, Maple and other hardwoods including tropical species (as available). Customer may request special wood and or amount of figure or supply their own wood, please contact us for required blank size and details concerning the quality of wood required.

Carving / Checkering – Relief and or incised carving: Oak leaf is pictured with two individual leaves on right grip and two overlapping leaves on left grip. Carving can be done in most any acanthus style. All carving is drawn and cut by hand to ensure each pistol is a unique individual and to uphold the hand-crafted tradition. Tang & hilt carving is also available.

Inlays – Most any small standard (brass/German silver) or custom inlays can be installed.

If you don't see it listed, I'll be happy to build it for you or assemble kits/parts you already own. It is impossible to list all the options available so please contact me with your desires. Repair, restoration and customization services on most any muzzleloading gun including re-stocking, inlay installation and carving. Custom & re-stocked guns can be fitted to you beyond just lenght of pull, whatever your needs, I will be happy to accomodate them.

Lyman Deerstalker very lightly used, nice walnut stock and .50 OEM barrel (non-OEM sights); 1:48 twist, 24" length; composite ram rod; tuned lock & trigger; excellent accuracy. $300.00

Custom drop-in barrels for Lyman & T/C hook-breech guns in flintlock or percussion. Smoothbore or rifled with choice of twist rate in .32 to .62 caliber (.62 only available for guns taking a 1" O.D. barrel). Contact with spec's for pricing. Please note, I cannot compete on price with the generic drop-in barrels. My custom drop-in barrels are match-grade, rifled barrels are single-point cut rifled with choice of square or round-bottom rifling. I do not currently offer hot blue service.
